WHY SHOULD CANADA ACCEPT MORE IMMIGRANTS?
Canada's population is largely older than the states, we need to keep up and we need immigrants to do the jobs that many Canadians won't do. We need to have a better immigration system, especially for people with relatives in Canada. Also, for "illegal" immigrants, they should be allowed to stay at that point. It proves they had the willpower to get here, they will have the willpower to get a job here. It is incredibly difficult to illegally immigrate to Canada anyways, who is going to cross the border? Canada's a great place, but job opportunities here are hardly better than in Washington or New York. As for crossing the Pacific AND getting past coastline security.

WHY WE NEED IMMIGRANTS IN CANADA
Immigration keeps our population increasing whereas if we didn't have immigrants we would have a decreasing population. A decreasing population is bad for our economy it makes a smaller amount of younger workers take over for the experienced people's jobs making workplaces less productive. Our aging population (because of the decreasing population if we didn't have immigrants ) would also cause more loss of tax money because of all the baby boomers retiring and we would have even less money and we may even run out of retirement funds for the future. We also need immigrants to fill jobs that canadians can't . An example of this is health care, we don't have enough people going into jobs like that so we need to get immigrants to fill the jobs. Also unlike what people think over 50% of our immigrants are highly educated. Those are some reason why I believe that Immigration is necessary for Canada.

cANADA needs continuity of population
The difficulty with our country is our geography, not the absolute number of people living within it. For our country to capitalize on our cultural, artistic or commercial ventures (which I would argue we have in abundance) so that they flourish, we need greater continuity of markets as opposed to the current fragmented markets and population that is characteristic of Canada population.

DIVERSITY as a benefit
Diversity played an important role in Canada’s history. Canada has the highest percentage of foreign-born citizens than any other country. In 2012, Canada welcomed a record number of immigrants for its seventh consecutive year, with over 250,000 newcomers entering the country. In opening its doors to immigration, Canada has created a society of mixed languages, cultures and religions.
